What is a temporary email (a burner email)?
A temporary email, or a burner email as people call it, is an email address you use for a short time before it’s deleted, so you can sign up to a site or receive a confirmation code without giving out your real email.
Why do people use it?
So their real inbox doesn’t fill up with offers and messages from sites they signed up to only once.
When not to use it
For accounts you’ll need to come back to, like your bank and government accounts, because the address expires and the password reset link never reaches you.
