What is spam email?

Spam is email you never asked for: offers and ads sent in bulk, and sometimes scams after your details or your money.

Where do they get your email?

Usually from a site you signed up to once that started sending you its offers, passed your address on, or had its data leak. Some also harvest addresses published on web pages.

What should you do with it?

Don’t click its links, open its attachments or reply. Mark it as spam so your inbox learns and sorts it by itself next time.

And if it comes from a site you know and really signed up to, unsubscribe from the link at the bottom of the message.

When you sign up to a site you don’t trust, use a temporary email from the browser instead of your real one. The confirmation code reaches you there, and when its time is up it’s deleted along with everything they sent.
